December 20th, 2011

Last A1c Tuesday December 20th, 2011: 7.2%.

Same deal. We are with a lot of basal (about 2U/kgrm), normal corrections (1U per 15 grams of carbs), and by the way he eats (no diet so far), we are always expecting A1c to go through the roof.

1) This is not medical advise. I'm not a doctor, I'm in no position of making an accurate interpretation of medical information. I just post here the collection of our experiences as parents facing our child's diabetes, and getting him into a clinical trial of a new drug. I'm not recommending any course of action nor a decision on what other people should do.
2) We are not US residents, though we travel often to the US for both business and leisure. This allowed us to get in contact with the people involved with the trial. Every visit to Dallas does not come for free, but we believe is worth for a better health in the boy's future.
3) The characters: whilst I don't like to publish names in the Internet, I'll call Dr. A. the physician and Mrs. B. the nurse we are dealing with at Dallas, Dr. B and C. our local endocrinologist and general practitioner.
4) The timeline: I've started the blog after all this process, I try to keep the accuracy of the dates, I think it quite reflects the timing (day more, day less)
5) The links at the footnote, are the main ones I've followed. Not all of them, just the ones that showed to be more important.
